In this 2-hour workshop, emphasis will be on various stringing materials, including coated wire, elastic and memory wire. You will learn about bead hole sizes and stringing material thickness and how the two work together. You’ll learn about different bead types and their uses in everyday jewelry. You’ll learn lots of little quality trade secrets, to make your project special, including correct finishing techniques.
This class will be offered on a Sunday afternoon and again on an evening, for convenience.
The project will be a bracelet. You may select from either memory metal, coated wire or Power Cord elastic; all techniques for working with each will be covered. Kits will be available to purchase for each bracelet style, priced from $10 to $20, depending on the stones used. Kits include all materials needed, and tools will be provided. Class sizes will be small (no more than eight per class) to allow lots of hands-on time. Please feel free to buy your own choice of beads you wish to use if you wish; and you are always free to bring your favorite tools.
